M&M's Kitchen

Confidence can be displayed in many ways and here we see a kitchen demand attention by nonchalantly commanding the space around it!! It is as though this kitchen has marched into the room, slammed the door and demanded that all the blue M&Mā€™s be removed from the bowl!

This kitchen is a transformer; a shape shifting reflection of functional art where form disguises function and the manipulation of shape, colour and texture is used to define a way of life!!  You donā€™t own a kitchen like this unless you have some serious style confidence.

The defining feature is the launch pad table complete with solid rocket boosters hovering overhead!  This is a bold cross over statement and showcases how the modern kitchen can be everything to everyone, not only delivering on its primary functional requirement but also providing the modern family with a place to live, work and play!

Kitchen design has exploded out of its architectural incarceration and become a serious design influencer!

  6. The modular kitchen designs are really awesome and attractive. The colors of the cabinets and furnishings are really great and looks cool. Usually modular kitchen laminated countertops are decorative, durable and moisture proof. The cost depends upon the thickness of the countertop and quality material used. Melamine resin wear layer strengthened with aluminum oxide is preferrable to buy. Nowadays advanced techniques like photograpic technology is also used to make the kitchen realistic and effective.

  7. Good kitchen design is a skill that is very much in demand. Modern homes need to have kitchens that are both spacious and practical, and fitting this in around kitchen layouts and the other rooms in new build homes is a difficult process.

  13. I love how modern this kitchen is, it is right up my alley. This is something that I would love to have in my dream home. There is no way that would fit in my small kitchen right now. Maybe I could do something similar to it though.

  14. The style is very modern! Everything looked movable. Although the owner feels like he/she don't cook much, guest appreciate the space much and enjoy to dine. Lovely!

Functional Thinking

Purity is a desirable attribute especially if used to disguise complexity!  This design manages to encourage a lingering desire to admire, the type of art gallery presence that demands quiet contemplation to fully appreciate.  By cleverly layering simple linear forms and combining a reserved colour palette this under stated design could be considered a masterpiece of functional thinking! Think about it!

Style Peacemaker

To mediate is to broker agreement and here we see a kitchen becoming a style peacemaker.   The industrial architecture sets the contemporary scene aptly aided by the exposed ventilation system which has been laid bare through the calculating incisions made by an architectā€™s drafting pen.   Light is allowed to penetrate and contradict the industrial space through more classically styled windows, casting shadows that have been polluted by the traditional influence of Georgian frames. The kitchens detachment from the floor is aesthetically powerful but it also shows how we have become scientific in our approach to functional furniture design.   We have learned that it is difficult to reach things at floor level while standing up straight!   The introduction of layers, shapes and warm light helps to soften the surroundings without confusing the picture.   It can be argued that the kitchen designer has been sensitive to the architecture while providing a ...

Functional Revolution Through Artistic Evolution

Amongst the chaos there is order! And here we see a vibrant mix of functional art that inspires the onlooker to delve deeper into this design and realise the complex levels of thought that have inspired such a flagrant disregard for convention. Excitement can be conjured by the exotic, and this design by Gitta Gschwendtner for Schiffini floats the notion that functionality can become an artistic experiment.   To some this may just be a series of boxes but to others this could be seen as an attempt to deliver a functional revolution through artistic evolution.
