Hot knife through butter!

This kitchen is simple and very effective.  It is a classic, contemporary set-up with a tall bank of units creating an un-obtrusive but functional back drop to the design.   The island takes centre stage as the main preparation and cooking zone, creating a highly effective and efficient work space!
Workflow distances are contained between the island and the bank of tall units - after all the Chief should never have to walk to the supermarket to prepare every meal!  Good designers consider kitchen zones, personal preferences and ergonomics to ensure that everything is just within reach, exactly when needed!
The introduction of a low level, informal table area introduces a subconscious element to this design; inviting social interaction and helping to define the space.  Allowing the table area to encroach onto the main body of the island allows the eye to be drawn to the contrast in colour, it also brings the social and working elements of this design closer together encouraging human eye contact and light hearted conversation.
The Mogul loves how the table cuts though the island like a hot knife through butter!

Functional Thinking

Purity is a desirable attribute especially if used to disguise complexity!  This design manages to encourage a lingering desire to admire, the type of art gallery presence that demands quiet contemplation to fully appreciate.  By cleverly layering simple linear forms and combining a reserved colour palette this under stated design could be considered a masterpiece of functional thinking! Think about it!

Functional Revolution Through Artistic Evolution

Amongst the chaos there is order! And here we see a vibrant mix of functional art that inspires the onlooker to delve deeper into this design and realise the complex levels of thought that have inspired such a flagrant disregard for convention. Excitement can be conjured by the exotic, and this design by Gitta Gschwendtner for Schiffini floats the notion that functionality can become an artistic experiment.   To some this may just be a series of boxes but to others this could be seen as an attempt to deliver a functional revolution through artistic evolution. The Mogul approves!

Celestial Island Cluster

Managing to understand and control proportion whilst delivering exemplary functional performance and unrivalled aesthetic impact is a skill which kitchen designers continually hone. Sitting majestically in the centre of the room this island cluster presents itself like an elevated alter of style complete with a ceiling drop that can deliver celestial messages direct to the Gods of design! Soft approachable geometry and the precise sightline and functional arrangement ensure that the impressive architectural scaling must cower down in the presence of this functional master piece. An island is one thing, but if you have enough space why don’t you let your imagination explore the endless possibilities of multi-island arrangements. The Mogul Approves!
