Functional Thinking

Purity is a desirable attribute especially if used to disguise complexity!  This design manages to encourage a lingering desire to admire, the type of art gallery presence that demands quiet contemplation to fully appreciate.  By cleverly layering simple linear forms and combining a reserved colour palette this under stated design could be considered a masterpiece of functional thinking! Think about it!

Double Impact

This on trend kitchen has some subtle design features which make it quite unique.   The extraction system has been detached from the kitchen, instead being merged into an architectural multi-media pod, which drapes itself over the functional island.   Heavier stainless steel worktop mirrors the ceiling feature by enveloping the island to create a multi layered work surface.   These double impact features may at first appear independent or unobvious but their positioning and shape add continuity to the design while delivering the required functional performance. Resisting the urge to centre the oven housings along the back wall also adds the right amount of contemporary asymmetrical styling to this design to make it quirky and trendy.

Monolithic Functionality

The palate here is crisp and futuristic delivering an immediate visual experience.    There is presence to this design with sharp stainless steel edges contrasting strongly against the surroundings.   The cabinetry backdrop is absorbed by the architecture and the resulting solidarity of colour gives the monolithic functionality even greater authority. Duel islands are certainly trending at the moment and this is a fine example of what can be achieved!   The Mogul loves the spiral staircase!!

Armani Kitchen

Who said kitchen design wasn’t fashionable!   This little number which is manufactured by Dada has the Armani label attached!   In an attempt to look exclusive the wooden finish has been given a golden glow!   Nice kitchen but it looks as though Dada have kept their best work for themselves!   It’s all about the designer label!   But this example illustrates how important kitchen design has become and is going to be in the future!

I, Exclamation! - Can you see it?

This kitchen is smooth and sophisticated offering a subtle introduction to functional kitchen art.   The wall units defy convention and resist the temptation to embrace, instead they repel against each other as though a predetermined force field prohibits an interaction.     The un-natural voids between these units present the opportunity for the lighting box shelving to create an interesting ambient effect.   The combination of the lighting and the artistic position of the wall units give this design a moody edge! The dominance of the thick set stainless steel bridging worktop is obvious, as the lower shelving unit knees beneath it in a weighted submission.   This low open shelf unit carries a great burden; and just as Heracles struggled to hold up the heavens this aspect of the design shoulders great responsibility allowing the kitchen to blend effortlessly into the living space. The Mogul approves!
