Methodical Confusion

This design certainly encourages a second glance as the eye tries to decipher logic within the chaos!   But look past the aesthetic and instead try to grasp the inspiration!   This concept is abstract, asymmetrical, layered and artistic; it also appears to be intimately integrated into the architecture – or is that the other way around!   This is an example of methodical confusion driven by the human need to be artistically extroverted!   In a functional kind of way! The Mogul thinks that the fitters would have loved this one !

Kitchen Design Evolution! A New Beginning!

The search is on for a contemporary kitchen that will evolve past the flat expanses of uniform glossy panels; and that is why kitchen designers at the leading edge of the industry are now exploring angular definitions.   Contemporary kitchen design is mutating and the process is beginning to deliver the next generation of kitchens. These new designs are loosely built upon the flat linear lines that made contemporary kitchen design such an unstoppable commercial freight train, but now designers are adding some subtle punctuation to their designs. The use of depth, height and colour variation allows the popular linear appearance to stay, but it is now re-energised to create a completely new look.   Higher cabinetry sections become functional pods whilst lower sections blend more easily into a living space.   Key functional elements can appear less obvious because the viewer is distracted by aesthetical variations within the design.   By becoming more intensely scrutinised, kitchen desi

A physical translation of rhythm!

This design is bold and it is brilliant.   Exploring alternating depth and the physical translation of rhythm this design re-writes the rules of contemporary kitchen design. The calculated 3D profiling exposes the beauty of precision cut stone, a beauty that has been hidden for too long within benign contemporary kitchen design!   The deliberate punctuation used along the length of this monolithic structure also presents an interesting canvas onto which natural light and shadow can dance a seasonal influence! The Mogul approves!

And the Lord said "Let there be light"!....Upon my island!

This image captures the light and invites you to appreciate the beauty of the design.   Having your morning coffee in this environment would be a very pleasant experience, encouraging a sense of place and an emotional connection with the kitchen.

Sharp Kitchen Design

This kitchen looks very sharp right down to the cantilever which could be an issue if there are young children around! The Mogul loves the large wall unit doors and the reflective qualities of the stainless steel worktop and wall cladding.   Very nice indeed!   Hire a cleaner if you own this one and give the kids some protective head gear!

Border Land

When the walls are removed an island can become a natural border between the functional and social elements of the space.   Our attitudes towards the kitchen are changing.   The kitchen has now become the functional aspect of our living room!

3am Designer Kitchen Experience

Owning a kitchen like this brings with it a certain amount of responsibility as you must be able to explain your reasons for constantly visiting this space.   This may seem like a strange thing to say but if you are constantly being found in your pyjamas at three in the morning exploring every artistic aspect of the design, the other half may want to know what you’re doing!     This kitchen reaches way beyond function; it has the ability to present itself for everyday adoration by its users!   The semi-recessed backlit units create a moody interactive experience for the viewer and this is heightened though the linear matrix pattern created by the doors.   Contradicting this is the nibbled edged worktops which brings the force and violence of a quarry blast straight into this design. Add the complex and beautiful sink design and this concept is close to a perfect example of kitchen art!
