Methodical Confusion

This design certainly encourages a second glance as the eye tries to decipher logic within the chaos!   But look past the aesthetic and instead try to grasp the inspiration!   This concept is abstract, asymmetrical, layered and artistic; it also appears to be intimately integrated into the architecture – or is that the other way around!   This is an example of methodical confusion driven by the human need to be artistically extroverted!   In a functional kind of way! The Mogul thinks that the fitters would have loved this one !

Softly Spoken Design

This design is simple but it manages to ignite our human curiosity with things that look a little peculiar.   We may question why the island looks off set, asymmetrically unbalanced and wonder why we find it interesting?   A closer examination of the design satisfies our inquisitive nature as we discover some crafty functionality integrated into this monolithic configuration!   Ornate detailing can be exquisite, showcasing flamboyant flair and inherited craftsmanship but simple shapes can be equally inspiring.   The simplicity of this island takes centre stage surrounded by an architecturally embedded and arguably impotent kitchen backdrop.     It is interesting that the mirrored panels around the oven housing reflect the island, allowing its influence to resonate throughout the architecture. Sometimes softly spoken words can deliver tremendous consequences.   The same can be said of this design!

Contemporary Kitchen Design

You have to appreciate the aesthetical quality of this design.   It sits as a modern monument to contemporary style.   The most striking and original element of this design is the slender white worktop which sits at a reassuringly ergonomic height, assisting in food preparation and cleaning. It is interesting, if not a little disappointing to see that the designers have used a big solid casing beneath the sink to conceal the wastes and offer some support to the wafer like work surface above.   The Mogul can imagine other ways of doing this!   It is also interesting to see that the cooking zone is set at a slightly lower level than the cleaning zone. The layering of the surfaces here is great, giving the design an artistic presence and allowing the user to mix up the cooking experience.   Although not a fan of having so much worktop at a low level The Mogul appreciates that this area can still be used to accommodate large electrical appliances and non-consumable items used in food pr
