Interstellar Sustenance Platform

This super-charged monolith considers careful adjustments of texture and form to satisfy the need for aesthetic interest.   The metallic finishes give this design an industrial accent that spits shards of metallic attitude at anyone considering anything less than all things contemporary. An oasis of vegetation completes the transformation from simple kitchen to interstellar sustenance platform, allowing kitchen consumers to go where no man has gone before. The Mogul approves! Looks great.

Monolithic Functionality

The palate here is crisp and futuristic delivering an immediate visual experience.    There is presence to this design with sharp stainless steel edges contrasting strongly against the surroundings.   The cabinetry backdrop is absorbed by the architecture and the resulting solidarity of colour gives the monolithic functionality even greater authority. Duel islands are certainly trending at the moment and this is a fine example of what can be achieved!   The Mogul loves the spiral staircase!!

Terminator Kitchen

Stainless steel is an alloy, a combination of metals that become fused together when exposed to high temperature.  The functional elements of this super hot design are so seamlessly integrated into the work surface and their fusion may well have taken place while the metal was in a liquid state.  But just as the T-1000 terminator was made from liquid metal this design shows some similar weaknesses! Is it possible that this shining example if precision engineering has forgotten its functional obligations and that functionality has been compromised in order to achieve artistic perfection?  The cooking and cleaning zones are the most dynamic functional elements of any kitchen but here we see that an important storage area has been replaced with fresh air with the user being required to travel away from this island hot zone to gather the non-consumable items needed for cooking.  And although not visible in the image is it possible that an exposed sink and waste system could com

Sanitised Butchery 2

Stainless steel always looks efficient and clinical, the type of finish you go with if you are going to work your kitchen hard.   There is no space for wimpy wood veneers here as this kitchen exists to make things happen! However, an interesting side effect of stainless steel is that it is extremely beautiful.   The reflective qualities allow light to be catapulted in every direction making the material interesting and attractive. The freestanding legs used on this island gives the impression that NASA had drawn the blueprints for the concept.  If NASA were designing a lunar module they wouldn’t use wenge veneer or high gloss, foil wrapped panels!  Back to the drawing board boys!!
